House M.D dvd turned out magnificently

March 3rd, 2011

House M.D dvd .’s soundtrack continues with a slew of distinguishing tracks that are rich with imagery and storytelling. By connecting the viewers with the characters through music, these tunes have helped immensely to turn House, M.D. into a successful drama. Many of the songs feature the warm sound of an acoustic guitar, thus providing the sort of connection that also allows the material to work well outside the scope of the program. Considering the wealth of memorable stories that are told within the tunes’ lyrics, listeners cannot resist the urge to become invested in following them to their conclusions. For instance, Michael Penn’s Walter Reed tells a compelling tale about removing oneself from an old situation and moving on. Penn sings, “Make no mistake I’m mad/’Cause every good thing I’ve had/Abandoned me
As most fans of House M.D dvd  know, the series isn’t entirely about drama; it contains plenty of humor as well. This mixture shines through the soundtrack. The lighter side of the program is reflected by Joe Cocker’s classic rendition of Feelin’ Alright and Band From TV’s cover of the Rolling Stones’ You Can’t Always Get What You Want. Overall, the material that has supported the storylines on House, M.D. has been chosen well, and consequently, this endeavor provides a good representation of the program itself. With a procedural show like this, it’s easy to start feeling comfortable in knowing what to expect from every episode. Not only does the season premiere shake things up a bit, but a few really fantastic episodes scattered throughout the season really spice things up a bit. Rather than focusing solely on House and his team (and the drama and conflict that results from the weekly cold case dvd medical mystery) two episodes particularly stand out as magnificent spin-offs of the series itself. All in all, season six pushes all the right buttons and continues to display why House M.D. is the best medical drama on television. Never afraid to make big changes to the cast and its dynamic, the writers should be proud to be writing one of the best leading characters currently on air, while still having the creative wits to have him step back and let the supporting cast share the spotlight for a couple episodes that turned out magnificently.

Self-proclaimed “annual regular” How I Met Your Mother dvd

February 27th, 2011

Self-proclaimed “annual regular” Alan Thicke returns to “How I Met Your Mother” for the Nov. 15 installment of the Robin Sparkles (Cobie Smulders) saga, “Glitter.”
caught up with the beloved “Growing Pains” dad on set, in front of an appropriately sparkly backdrop, to get a few details on his latest self-parodying turn.
Thicke says he’ll be channeling fellow Canadians William Shatner and Alex Trebek for his part in the Sparkles-headlined variety show, “Space Teens,” an episode of which Barney has unearthed just to torture Robin.
Since Thicke’s cameos are always of the self-parodying variety, you’ll also see a little of him in there. But the “HIMYM”-verse Alan is a bit more lecherous than the man himself.
“There are a lot of references to beavers,” Thicke admits. The heavy-handed innuendo in “Glitter” actually has him wondering how many of his scenes will really see the light of day.
“I have to believe that the network has been monitoring this all along the way,” he says. “I can’t believe they could get away with everything. It’s hilarious stuff, but whether it should be on at 8 or 9 or 3am will be for other powers to decide.”

Since their breakup, Barney and Robin have spent an understandably few episodes cold case dvd playing off of each other. The dry spell ended with their night at the museum, and though the writers seemed to go out of their way to make their rule-breaking seem anything but romantic, we can’t help but feel it laid the groundwork for the reunion/wedding we are so deeply sure of — in our bones!Barney also learned that his uncle is his father — a disturbing revelation in most crowds but somehow appropriate for Mr. Stinson. After that heartfelt moment with his mother, the answer to this HIMYMystery had to come from some third party in the way left field. Mission: accomplished. We expect we’ll meet him by February sweeps.Jennifer Morrison told us that we’d see Zoey soften to Ted in “Natural History,” and she was right. We thinks that teary-eyed confession about being stuck in an unhappy marriage came to easily to be just a trick. Though we can’t imagine what her problem is. Who wouldn’t want to be married to someone who calls himself “The Captain?” And you know how we feel about boats.Lily’s (Alyson Hannigan) frustration with Marshall considering a 5-year contract is a bit of a surprise — doesn’t she love how GNB pays off her credit card debt? Regardless, any flashes to college Marshall and Lily are a-OK — as are Scooter references. David Burtka deserves an Emmy for “Outstanding All-Sobbing Cameo in ’90s Hair.”So here’s where we start trying to bend the myth of the mother to suit Zoey. Maybe she rents a room in Rachel Bilson’s apartment to get away from her distant husband. We know she has easy access to Columbia classes, perhaps she was in Economics 101 when Ted accidentally taught the wrong class. And we haven’t seen her with any umbrella that isn’t yellow. Right?

Hello, friends,When last we met, In cold case dvd Lilly had just stumbled into her sister’s hotel room to find said long-lost sister missing again…only this time, there were signs of a struggle.

This episode will see Lilly and Scotty tracking Chris down, while the rest of the squad focuses on a case that’s been eating Jeffries alive for seventeen years, a case whose twists and turns could spell the end of a couple of careers. All this is set to the music of The Rolling Stones, who even recorded a new song for the occasion!

When the show started many persons are not really into cold case dvd, but now there are so many fans. we believe that all the characters are muted to dramatise the title of the show, “Cold Case.”  Now that we are into the characters I throughly enjoy each show. we like Lily’s look, as it is distinctive, and she has the appearance of a Philadelphia Detective.  Philadelphia has it’s own look, different from New York and LA.  we are a native of the area and feel that the show portrays Philadelphia (past and present).  we are glad that she does not wear clothing that displays other areas then her mind, that is the way it is supposed to be.

Nirvana’s music comes to ‘Cold Case’

LOS ANGELES — Eight original songs by Grammy Award-winning seminal grunge band Nirvana will be featured throughout the fifth season premiere of COLD CASE, Sunday, Sept. 23 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network

The featured songs are: “All Apologies,” “Stay Away,” “If You Must,” “Lithium,” “Drain You,” “Heart Shaped Box,” “Something in the Way” and “Come as You Are.”

“We’re thrilled to be featuring Nirvana songs exclusively throughout this chilling episode about two seemingly nihilistic male teens who may have been falsely accused and convicted of murdering three 10-year-old boys,” said COLD CASE Executive Producer Veena Sud, who wrote this episode.  “Nirvana’s music not only evokes the era when this case’s killings took place but brings a starkness and poetry to the story that deeply enhances it.”

The episode, entitled “Thrill Kill,” takes place several weeks after the COLD CASE season four finale, when Lilly (Kathryn Morris) was shot and critically wounded.  She has just returned to work and tries to convince her boss, Stillman (John Finn), and herself that she’s emotionally ready to spearhead the re-opening of the disturbing 1994 case after new evidence suggests that the boys’ real killer may still be at large.  The episode was directed by Alex Zakrzewski.

Past single-artist episodes of COLD CASE have showcased the music of Johnny Cash, John Mellencamp, Bruce Springsteen, Tim McGraw, U2 and Bob Dylan.

Kathryn Morris, Danny Pino, John Finn, Jeremy Ratchford, Thom Barry and Tracie Thoms.   It is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television in association with CBS Productions and Warner Bros. Television.  Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Meredith Stiehm and Veena Sud are the executive producers.

The episode is about Liz Lemon (Tina Fey)’s 20th high school reunion, and the discovery that Liz was in fact, a classic high school Mean Girl – something Fey is an expert on, since she wrote the film Mean Girls.

Cold Case Files, an A&E TV show
A Cold Case, a 2002 true crime novel by Philip Gourevitch”

Quick look from the World Alzheimer Report 2010

October 30th, 2010

Excerpt from the World Alzheimer Report 2010:

“The total estimated worldwide costs of dementia are US$604 billion in 2010.”

“If dementia were a country, it would be the world’s 18th largest economy, ranking between Turkey and Indonesia. If it were a company, it would be the world’s largest by annual revenue exceeding Wal-Mart (US$414 billion) and Exxon Mobil (US$311 billion).”

“Costs of informal care (unpaid care provided by families and others) and the direct costs of social care (provided by community care professionals and in residential home settings) contribute similar proportions (42%) of total costs worldwide, while direct medical care costs are much lower (16%).”

“There is an urgent need to develop cost-effective packages of medical and social care that meet the needs of people with dementia and their caregivers across the course of the illness, and evidence-based prevention strategies. Governments and health and social care systems need to be adequately prepared for the future, and must seek ways now to improve the lives of people with dementia and their caregivers.”

A warm welcome of Cold case

October 30th, 2010

I’m glad I got the opportunity to catch this show. It’s no doubt one of the really good shows on TV these days. Cold Case follows homicide detective Lilly Rush of the Philadelphia police as she digs up the “cold cases”. Old unsolved crimes.

This is a very well written show. The episodes always has their twist even though the cases, at first sight, might seem pretty much alike. This show captures the individuality of each crime, the persons involved and the surroundings in a very good way. The fact that the crimes have been committed years ago and that everything involved has changed over the time, gives this show something different then every other cop show. It also captures the humanity of both the victims the suspects and the investigators. There are a lot of feeling in it and it often gets rather touching. Some episodes might contain elements from the characters personal life, but this hardly ever a great storyline of it self in single episodes. It just gives the characters a life beyond the job and this is good as it never takes over the episode or is used to cover a bad plot. The show involves several investigators and you get to know them as well. They got lives and personalities too, yet they don’t steal the show from Rush, witch in the end is the star of the show.

The cast is great. Kathryn Morris does a great job portraying Rush and the others does a good job as well. The directors does a good job instructing the cast.

The original music of this show it catching and good. In addition there is a lot of none original music from the year the crimes are committed. This really gives the right feel and easy gives you the idea of witch year we’re in. I find the use of non-original music very nice. Including the none original theme song by E.S. Posthumus. It fits like a glove.

The cinematography and lightning of this show is just beautiful. It all looks great. Both scenes from past and present. They have given the show a unique look. A kind of white or blue, cold look. They also manage to capture the unique eras in witch the crime was committed. You know just by looking witch decade we’re in. It’s the colors, the way they shoot, the quality and the overall look that make this. The art director, production designer, costume etc. deserves credit for this too. Making the sets and such fit the era.

Cold Case is a well written, good looking and well made show. Over all I would give this show a 7,5 out of 10 and a warm recommendation.
